22st Naxos Festival

Naxos Festival opens its gates for the 22st consecutive year, featuring a multifaceted cultural program with the support of the Hellenic American Union.

Τhe island’s cultural summer celebration, the Naxos Festival, headed by artistic director Stelios Krasanakis, is presenting one more multilayered program this year, in and around the inland Bazaios Tower and other atmospheric venues. The original visual arts exhibition Tapisserie [Tapestry], curated by Iris Kritikou and organized by Marios Vazaios, spans the duration of the summer, from June 26 to October 2, staged both inside the Bazaios Tower and in its surrounding outdoors. Twelve selected artists create supple modernist tapestry landscapes, proposing new ways of weaving, with varied materials and ingenious handcrafting processes. The artists participating in the exhibition are Zoe Gaitanidou, Mary Galani-Criticou, Maria Grigoriou, Irene Gonou, Manolis Zacharioudakis, Nikos Koniaris, Maro Kornilaki, Maria Kotsou, Pandora Mouriki, Sofia Paschou, Ismini Samanidou and Ioanna Terlidou.

The exhibition is open to the public every day, 10:00-17:00. Closed on Mondays.
