The award-winning documentary "Cured" in its first nationwide premiere
As part of Athens Pride 2023, Hellenic American Union presents the premiere of the award-winning American documentary "Cured" (2020) by Bennett Singer and Patrick Sammon, with free admission.
The documentary chronicles the LGBTQ+ community struggles to remove homosexuality from the lists of mental disorders of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). When this was achieved in 1973, after a fierce David vs. Goliath struggle, it was a major step in claiming equal rights.
